Tourrettes sur Loup is in the hills, 24 kilometres from Antibes.  It’s a medieval village, perched on a rocky outcrop and is one of the most beautiful villages in Alpes Maritimes.  When you visit the village, explore Grande Rue with its craft workshops, the ramparts, La Tour dating from the 16th century, the pretty “lavoir” in Place de la Fontaine, the remains of a drawbridge at the entrance to the gateway to the château.  Visit the 16th century Saint Grégoire church and the 19th century mill race.  There are two museums to visit in Tourrettes sur Loup, La Bastide aux Violettes retracing the 150 year local history of violet cultivation and the Musée Florian, devoted to sweet making.  If you like walking  go to Puy de Tourrettes which overlooks the village and  surrounding countryside, it takes about two hours to get there and back.  In early March you can see the Fête des Violettes.  Why not rent a holiday home in Tourrettes sur Loup and visit the nearby villages of Gourdon, Courmes and Bar sur Loup.
